“Guardian angels of heritage”
Broadcast on 10/04/2023 at 9:10 p.m. Available until 07/11/2024
From Burgundy to Charente-Maritime, from the palaces of the Alhambra to the Château de Rambouillet, guardian angels are restoring the most beautiful French monuments. On the roofs of Mont-Saint-Michel, Delphine Christophe, director of conservation at the Center des monuments nationaux, is leading the restoration of La Merveille, the Gothic masterpiece of Mont-Saint-Michel. Elsa Ricaud, a young heritage architect, is taking care of the restoration of the house of the travel writer Pierre Loti. Bringing back to life the house of an illustrious writer is also the commitment of François-Xavier Richard, one of the last craftsmen in France to master the printing of wallpaper using a board.
Since he acquired the Château de Chevigny-en-Valière near Beaune, Stéphane Sésé has been determined to restore it to its 19th century splendor.
